Hostess Gifts!

I head up a Hostess of the month club for Close to My Heart. I love their products! Well one of the perks my hostesses receive is that I make them some extra goodies. For july’s hostess I made these altered items. Tell me what you think.

I also had a chance to go and see a concert with my brother Josh and sis(inlaw) Alicia. It was so much fun!!! This tells my age but… We saw Cheap Trick, Poison and Def Leppard!!! So here we are before it started. I’m the one on the left. =0)

Hello everybody! Hope you are haveing a great day. The days are getting nicer here in Georgia. Pollen is getting higher too, but isn’t that how it goes?

I wanted to share a craft I made recently. Where I work, we use a lot of CD’s (music for kids). So I wanted to make something to put them in so they wouldn’t get messed up. I made my own CD case! Do take a look and let me know what you think. I hope I inspire you to create something that is useful and of course…FUN!!!

Scrapbook retreat

About a week ago, I went on a scrapbook retreat. Had a good time just never long enough to get all I wanted accomplished. I tried to upload an update to my blog via my phone but it didn’t work from there. So I am trying again.
This first pic was my workspace after I finally got it together.
The next pic is a goodiebox I got! Filled to the brim with wonderful goodies!!
The pic with the NS symbol is a backdrop that Paulette made from a sheet and all her little extras! It turned out great and good for a backdrop for pics. Great job Paulette!!
Any way, it was good to get away.
Hope you get some time to get away from the everyday stuff and scrapbook or whatever it is that makes you relax.

Day off

Kids are having a great day off playing with Christmas and birthday toys. It’s always nice to have a day off. What I like is some time to slow down and have some fun. I love it when my kids play so sweetly together. At this moment, they were playing “together” with their toys. Priceless moments and memories!!!

We got snow today!!!! Hope it keeps on snowing!!!

Its been snowing for almost 2 hours and still snowing! Here in the south we get soooo excited over a little bit of snow. And of course we are ALL excited!! Hope it will continue and maybe have another Day Off!

Abbygail took time to go play in the snow. First snowball of the year!

New Year’s goal!!!

I have been so busy these past few months that I haven’t had a chance to post anything here. I apologize for this if you have kept checking back to see new things. I want to do better on this.

There is another lady’s blog that I visit almost every DAY! She is great. I get a lot of inspiration from her. If you would like to check out her blog it is www.chicnscratch.typepad.com She is great! I won’t be as dedicated to posting everyday due to me having a full time job and my kids going to cub scouts and girl scouts. I will try to do more than I have but it won’t be everyday.

As most people set goals for the new year, I have some of my own. Here is a list of things I would like to do for myself or my household.

1. do more scrapbooking

2. make more crafts: painting, papercrafts, or whatever i come in contact with that is just cute

3. clean out closets and organize them!

4. paint my kids rooms and hopefully the rest of the house

5. have more scrapbooking shows for CTMH

6. read and study my Bible more everyday, most important!

7. Clean out the garage/basement! so tired of it being piled up

8. And to be a better person, (christian,wife, mother,daughter, sister, friend and teacher.)

9. eat better and loose a healthy amount of weight for myself, not for what the world likes, but for me.

What are some of your goals you would like to reach this year? Post them and let see what kind of year we can make it… a better one!

Trying to catch up!

This is a great idea for teacher gifts!!

I apologize to all of you that kept checking back to see if I had updated my blog. The summer has been very busy and since school has started, time is still not on my side. I have stolen some minutes to try and catch up with my blog. I am going to try to update at least once a week, but don’t hold me to it yet!!

I am posting some pics of things I have made for family and friends. I hope you like them and maybe they will inspire you to get creative. Hope you like!!

These princesses were done on my cricut! I love that thing!!!!!I used a page protector and made this into a "frame".This is a 2pg. Layout I did for my niece for her scrapbook. This one was gave me a bit of trouble, but then I got it!I had so much fun with this page! A little bit of everything!

Fun With Paper Crafts!

One Sunday night a month we have a Ladies Devotional Night. That is where we get together and of course have a devo. and eat and just socialize. This month I volunteered to help. For decortations on the tables, we try to make it look good ( fun or dainty). Our group wants to go with the carribean color theme but with a touch of Bible. So I made candles for the tables and then bookmarkers for everyone.

I used Close to My Heart stamp set “Come Unto Me” and also Stampin’ Up’s stamp set Baroque Motif to make both of these. They were easy and fun to make. This was the first time I tried altering a candle and it turned out good! Made the book marks to match. I made these Wednesday but didn’t get them on here due to my son getting sick.

Yesterday I had a chance to “play” in my craft room. Here are some things that I did.

This a cute little “bag” that holds 2×2 cards and envelopes. It was really easy to make. I used White Daisy, Holly Hock and Cocoa Card stock from Close to My Heart. I used the CTMH inks- Colonial white( for the suttle background on the white daisy cardstock), Holly Hock and Cocoa. Stamp sets were from Stampin’ Up. They were Baroque Motif and Think Happy Thoughts. I also used Stampin’ Up’s punches- scalloped circle and Boho flowers.

This is called a Box in a Bag. It was different but cool. I used 2 companies supplies again, same as above. CTMH supplies are as follows: Pansy Purple, Garden Green and White daisy cardstock. SU supplies are as follows: Baroque Motif stamp set , Boho Flowers punch and Tab punch. To make this scallop at the bottom I used Creative Memories wavy cutter( don’t remember the correct name). This would be great for so many gift ideas!

Well, that is all I have done at this moment in time. Not only is my son sick but now my husband and I think me too! Gonna be a great week. Hopefully my daughter won’t get sick but she probably will. Pray for us!!!!

Vacation!!

Hello again! I have been away on vacation this past week. We went to Disneyland in Orlando, Fl. We had a wonderful time. The kids loved it! They did really well. They didn’t complain through the heat, they were just so excited to see the Characters and all the great sites.

We stayed in the Beach Club Resort and it was nice! A nice home away from home. The first day we visited the Magic Kingdom. We walked so much that day. Kids were so amazed at all there was to see. The second day we went to the Animal Kingdom. Really neat stuff there. I had never been there before so that was neat to see. The last day we went to Hollywood Studios. That was cool place. Kids saw some new characters (such as Prince Caspian from the new Narnia movie) and saw the Indiana Jones show. They loved that! And some of us rode the Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Roller coaster. Those were fun.

All in all we had a wonderful time. Glad to be back home too. I look forward to getting some things made and posted this week. You will have to keep checking back to see what I have made. Until then, Have a great day and hope your week is wonderful!!

Teacher gifts

This was the set I made for Abbygail’s teachers. I had fun making these gifts. I got these ideas off a wonderful blog! www.chicnscratch.typepad.com She is awesome!

These are keychain post-it note holders. I used Close to my Heart papers and dotted circle stamp set. I also used Stampin’Up’s circle scallop punch.

Some altered paper clips and Magnetic bookmarkers. The flowers are crotched by my mom. She is the crafty one in that area.

This a close up of the cards. I used Legendary Moments stampset from Close to my Heart on the corners.

Here i made the “purse” for the cards and envelopes to go in. I thought they were cute.

Trying to make it better

I am trying to get the hang of this blogging thing! LOL! Slowly but surely maybe I will get there. I will be adding pictures of cards and crafts you can make.
